I really does look like a vase. 1 thing you could improve is the opening of the vase where the flowers come out. The flowers feel like they're too far back and the opening could use more work. It's highly noticible bieng at the center of the image. Aside from that I really like this image. (1 year and 45 days ago)

Let me just say Wow!
I really like this image. On the other hand. (hehe) it still looks a little flat. 
Try using your burn tool set to Range: Shadows, Exposure 15-20%, Airbrush. Working on the layer containing your wood grain burn in the cracks in the wood and lines in the hand. Hopefully you'll like the result. It should add some more depth. if that goes well then try experimenting with the dodge tool. Set it to highlights.

Texture Hand
Thats a little better but, try this instead. select the layer you created that contains the red liquid. Then change the blending option to multiply. After that play with the opacity a little bit and, see if you like what happens.
