step 10 Don't worry too much about the hair as we'll be using a dark background (a graveyard at night). Let's first concentrate on the skin. Zombies are palid, they don't have nice, bronzed tans. So we have to get rid of it. Use the eraser tool (E) on the eyes and mouth:
step 11 Same thing again, 'Q', Select->Inverse, then Crtl+C and Crtl+V. We have a new layer! Start renaming layers by double clicking them in the layers panel, so we can easily keep track of them:
step 12 See where it says 'Normal' on the layers panel? Click the dropdown menu and down through them.
step 13 You can see that I have chosen Screen. That looks absolutely disgusting! Press Crtl+L to open up the levels screen. This is a very important tool in photoshop, as it allows us the alter the shadows, Midtones and highlights:
step 14 You can we that I have changed the midtones just a little, and has given us an even more palid and revolting colour. Now I have changed the Channel to blue and moved the Midtones again a little:
step 15 Having never actually come face to face with a zombie, I can only assume what its eyes would be like, so I'm going for a black 'demonic' look. 'Q' paint the eyes again, copy and paste in exactly the same way as for the face, but this time change the blending mode to 'Linear Burn':
step 16 The mouth. Same prochedure, only this time we have used 'Linear Light'.
step 17 Now select the base layer, a nice, smallish soft brush and change the brush settings to 'Multiply'. We are going to draw between the teeth and on the inside of the lips to give it a more 'rotten' look:
step 18 The T-shirt. Select the base layer, and the same as the face.
