step 1

I used a www.sxc.hu photo to begin with.

step 2

You need wood structure photos to cover the skin.

step 3

Cover the skin with a wood layer (first I used wood 1) You can remove the parts that cover the dress and background now or do it later. In this step I am showing you how it looks after removing the parts you don't need, but as you can see in the next steps, I removed them lateron.

step 4

Set the blending mode to multiply

step 5

Do the same with wood layer 2 as you did with wood layer 1 in step 3.
Set the blending mode to overlay and lower the opacity.

avatar freejayNice tutorial but i would suggest using the warp tool on the wood layer, after its placed over the
top of the doll, to bend it with the surface shape..

avatar ClaudiolkyAnother great skill to aplly the wood at the skin is:
Select the skin(face, arm...) ----> CTRL +J ----> drag the wood -----> clipping mask
------> Blending mode ......

My tutorial http://www.photoshoptalent.com/photoshop-tutorials/working-with-clipping-mask.php shows
that....

Fantastic tutorial ... Congrat`s!!!

no avatarnice. is there anything to do to the hands to make them look even more real? now they don't look
like pieces, they look more like dents in the wood.
great work otherwise, it must have taken you forever to put this thing together, it's very detailed
and nice.
