Tutorial goal:

In Photoshop CS2 we have this wonderful filter called vanishing point. In this tutorial I'm trying to explain one of the features of this filter, removing an object from a pattern.

step 1

Using this great photo from PST, http://www.photoshoptalent.com/photoshop-contest/640/footprints.html, I tried to remove one of the step from the tiles.
Open the image, click on Filter/Vanishing Point, select the "Create Plane Tool"


step 2

Click on one tile corner, go to another tile corner and make a rectangle like in the photo.


step 3

Drag from the side of the rectangle, not the corners otherwise you may change the perspective you carefully set in step 2.


step 4

You should a get a grid covering the image like this one.


step 5

Select "clone tool" and choose "on" for the "heal".
