step 6

Make sure the name of the merged layer is still "layer1-girl".
You can rename a layer by right-clicking on the layer in the layers window, then click "layer properties" and type in the new name in the box.
Click "ok".

step 7

We are going to change the color and brightness a little bit on the girl. Make very subtle changes, we don't want it to look unnatural.
layer>new adjustment layer>color balance
layer>new adjustment layer>brightness/contrast
layer>new adjustment layer>hue/saturation
Always check "use previous layer to..." and click ok.
If the face looks too blue or too bright, erase part of the layer mask.
Right-click "layer1-girl" and merge clipping mask.

step 8

Copy/paste the foot to make it darker.
Select the foot with the lasso tool.
edit>copy
edit>paste
We can name this new layer "layer2-foot"

step 9

Change the color, saturation and brightness.
layer>new adjustment layer>color balance
layer>new adjustment layer>brightness/contrast
layer>new adjustment layer>hue/saturation
Always check "use previous layer to..." and click ok.
Right-click "layer2-foot" and merge clipping mask.
Click "layer1-girl" and "layer2-foot" while holding the shift key, right-click and "merge layers"
Rename the merged layer into "layer1-girl"

step 10

Use the lasso tool to select the wings.
edit>copy
Open a new image window.
file>new
Give it a bright color. First select a color (red) with the eyedropper tool, then fill it with the bucket tool.
edit>paste
With the eraser tool we mask the wings.
Use the move tool to drag the wings to the main photo.
We have to get them in the right position.
edit>transform>scale
edit>transform>flip horizontal
edit>transform>rotate
