Tutorial goal:
We are going to make our own painting out of a portrait. You need a bit of drawing and painting skills, but most of the work is done by blending layers and the use of a few filters. Very detailed steps for beginners. Made with CS2.

step 31
Now we are going to flatten the image. It’s always wise to save the psd file before flattening just in case you want to change something lateron.
Layer>flatten image

step 32
The image is flattened now, and we are going to make a duplicate of the background layer.
Layer>duplicate layer
This will be “background copy”

step 33
Filter>artistic>paint daubs

step 34
As always when using a filter, don’t just push ok, but play with the settings. When you are happy with it, push ok.

step 35
We are duplicating that layer too.
Layer>duplicate layer
This will be “background copy 2”
