Tutorial goal:
We are going to make our own painting out of a portrait. You need a bit of drawing and painting skills, but most of the work is done by blending layers and the use of a few filters. Very detailed steps for beginners. Made with CS2.

step 16
Check if the colours are still set on black and white.
Filter>sketch>photocopy

step 17
Play with the settings and push ok.

step 18
Now you have layer 4.

step 19
Click on the blending modes, and pick “screen”.
You can try out different blending modes, maybe you find another one that works better on your photo.
Set the opacity to 63%. Again, you can use another %.

step 20
Select>all
Edit>copy merged
File>new
Now you get a new empty rectangle. We will call this "girl2" from now one, and the first photo we'll call "girl1". Pick out a colour with the eyedropper tool and fill the rectangle with the paint bucket tool.
