We are going to make our own painting out of a portrait. You need a bit of drawing and painting skills, but most of the work is done by blending layers and the use of a few filters. Very detailed steps for beginners. Made with CS2.

Set the opacity of layer 2 to 43%.
You can do this in the layers window.

Click on the eye next to layer 2. Now that layer is invisible.
Select>all

step 13

Edit>copy merged

step 14

Click on the white square where the eye will reappear so layer 2 is visible again.

step 15

Edit>paste
This is layer 3.
