step 1


make a new document. (200 x 200 px)

Fill the document with this color #bde4ee.


step 2


Select the rectangular marquee tool and choose Fixed Size make it 100% 35px
With the rectangular marquee tool still selected, right click on your image.
Now choose save selection.


step 3


With the rectangular marquee tool still selected, right click and choose transform selection
now rotate it 90 degrees clock wise. And move it to the right side.


step 4


Repeat step 2 and 3 so you will have 4 selections saved ( up right down left )


step 5


Open your channels pallete (window channels). Now hold down ctrl and click on "up"
still hold down ctrl but also hold down shift now, and click on "right".

no avatarI agree with lundmikkel, you could just use the bevel and emboss layer style to achieve this..

no avatarYes you could but i am showing, it is also possible doing this an other way.

You might say this is harder to do, but at some point you don't want to use bevel and emboss and you might want to use this.

I still hope this will help someone.
