Now create a new layer called "light" and using the Polygonal Lasso Tool (l) draw a line diagonally down the middle then draw around the base so that you have a selection surrounding and cutting across the base (see image below). Once happy with your selection fill it in white.

Now for the confusing part. Go back to the inner base layer and select all by using the wand tool (w). Then select inverse by going on Select then Inverse. Go back to the Light Layer and select the eraser tool (e). Now erase all of the white on the outside of the base (see image below). Note I temporarily changed the colour of the background to red to make it easier to see.

Right Click on the "light" layer to select blending options. Set the blending options to the properties shown on the image below.

Before this next selection is made your iPod should look like the image shown below. Next create yet another layer called "Screen". Make a rectangular selection like below to act as the iPod screen. Once you are happy with the selection fill it in with black (g). Then edit the blending options to the properties on the bottom right.

Next create a new layer called "Button". On this new layer make a circular selection by using the elliptical marquee tool (m) and shift. Try to align it in the middle of the iPod below the screen. (note it is easier to move once it has been filled). Then when you are happy fill it in with black (g). Set the blending options to Inner Shadow and use the properties in the image below.
