Learn how to sharpen your images; This tutorial will help you make your images look as if they were taken from a high megapixel digi cam. It will also help make the skin look much smoother and an overall brighter look. [Thanks To 'Photoshopaholic' for the image used to make this tutorial.

step 1

First of all, you need to open the image that you want to sharpen.

File > Open

Select the image you want. Then click Open.

Once your chosen image is open, duplicate your layer; [Layer >> Duplicate Layer]

When the duplicate layer box appears, save the layer name as 'LUMINOSITY'.
Then select 'OK'

Once again, duplicate the layer [Layer >> Duplicate Layer]

When the duplicate layer box appears, save the layer name as 'SCREEN'

Your Layer Box should look like this:

Now select the LUMINOSITY layer

In the blending mode drop down box, select LUMINOSITY.
