Tutorial goal:
Hello fellow photoshopers! In this 20-step tutorial I’ll be explaining how to make the MacBook Air ad (as shown on http://www.apple.com/macbookair). I'm not going to focus on the end result but I'll try to explain lots of the tools I used and tell you some of the tricks to make your Photohop workflow easier! As an “Apple fanboy” I really enjoyed doing this and I hope y’all learn something! Have fun and keep chopping! K3v

To achieve a metal look we will use a gradient overlay. Go back to the layer styles and use the following settings.

Note: All locations are for color stops. No color midpoints has to be changed if not mentioned!

In this step we’ll create the shiny edge of the topplate.

Duplicate layer “Top”, clair all Layer Styles and drag it beneath the original shape. Now tapp the down arrow twice. Call this layer “Edge”.

Now to make the edge nice and shiny we need our Layer Styles. Again we will use a Gradient Overlay.
