step 6

Shift + F5 to open Fill dialog box or Edit / Fill. Use History and press ok to return to the image the original background color.

Open Channles and drag the blue channel to the create new channel buton

step 8

still selected the new channel we create we are going to use the CURVES comand (Ctrl + M / or image / adjustments / curves)
and we re going to add 4 values as you can see on this step

step 9

you should get something like this

now we are going to create another channel that we are going to use latter with the calculations command.
(image / calculations ) and select the same options that you see here
