Tutorial goal:
This tutorial runs through one of my entries on PhotoshopTalent. And how I blended multiple sources and used adjustment layers, masks, levels, filters and transformations to make blended sources look more realistic.

step 1
I just make a duplicate source layer.
The following other source images were used:
http://www.sxc.hu/category/1001/3 and http://www.elkorose.com/cherrycreek/021020eganmine_tunnel.JPG

step 2
Next I want to create a levels adjustment layer. I'm doing this because I think the picture feels too green. To do this click the half circle and click the levels... in the pop up menu.

step 3
Firstly I adjusted the output to dull the brightest bits of the picture. Just a little.

step 4
I then reduced the green channel. You can see the colour of pebbles change to a more bluish red and the stone on the left side becomes a lot more blue.

step 5
This picture just demonstrates what the level adjustment layer did.
