Tutorial goal:
This tutorial uses the warp tool and layer blending modes to create a Phoenix Bird out of a flower.

Repeat this with more layers and change the layer blending modes for dark and light hues. Screen will be lighter, Multiply makes darker.

The background is created with the original image motion blur horizontal, then another layer I used from the Filter Forge. I used a filter, Radial blur, zoom effect. the key here is changing the layer blending modes and opacity's to let layers beneath show through. layer blending modes are very powerful to achieve awesome effects.

To finish up, add some hilights on the beak and where you think you may want some. you can make the wings larger or change the color. do whatever you think is best. ;-)
