introduction:
Pop art is an art form that began in the sixties. Obvious really, what with all those drugs they were taking back then. Nowadays though, we don't need drugs, we have photoshop. So turn on, tune in but don't, whatever you do, drop out.
requirements:
Adobe Photoshop 6 or higher
target result:

step 1
Who's a media icon? Humm. I know, Beckham! Try googling his name. My god, is there anyone else on this planet who gets more results? (Certainly not Real Madrid). I'm not going to detail how to cut him out of the background, as you should bloody well know that by now. By the way, Backham's a nice bloke. Fact. I'll not have anyone saying anything against him. Not while he's at Real Madrid, anyway.

step 2
CRTL+J to make a copy of the layer, just in case you (or I) bugger it up. SHIFT+CRTL+U to desaturate it. We're going to color it ourselves:

step 3
Go Image->Adjustments->Equalize, then Image->Adjustments->Threshold:

step 4
Make a new layer and change the blend mode to darken. Click the Foreground color palette and choose a tacky pinky color.

step 5
CRTL+Click the base layer to select it then paint on the new layer. We've got the base layer selected to aid us painting. See, now we can't go off his face (but we do have to be careful around his hair).

step 6
Right, now go Filter->Sketch-Halftone pattern:

step 7
Damn! Do his hands while you're at it too. Make a new layer, choose a yellow, and do the same with his hair:
