Make a human tree without using external sources.

Look for a photo of a special tree.

Go to filter>liquify.
Try out different settings and create a mouth, a nose and an eye by dragging the liquify circle till you get the right shape.
step 3
After the liquify, erase the parts that don't blend in very well, like the distorted leaves next to the eye.
step 4
Making the iris.
step 5
Improving the liquified parts.

I agree that the tree had a good shape, but you can liquify most trees into a face if you want.

you smudged easily ..and in the case of another tree it's different.
