I have been playing with CS2 and now CS3 for the past 6 months non-stop and I have been wanting to know how to do my colours properly, I have nee figuring mos of the stuff up by myself.

The way I do some of my stuff is with a gradient, get the darker colour and the light colour[whit if you want, you can change the opacity to like 30% to help it blend]

A great way for getting good lighting is also by using the wet edge burshes.

Now if you want to get a soft look to your picture you can use an airbrush and set the hardness to 0 and you can get a nice effect.
Wet Edge brushes also works very nicely with an airbrush.

But I suggest Gradient colouring and changing the eraser to around 20-30% and then making it lighter and then blending it, or just leave it as a whiter/lighter spot
