Just aged it a bit

Step by step.

I used a image of RUST, cut and pasted over statue, I then selected the rust layer and changed setting to ghost,Removed all rust area that fell outside the area of the statue using the rubber tool. I then highlighted some areas to bring out the features of the statue.
I would include thumbnails but not sure how to do this here.
