Edit 2: The Penguin is in the fireball... I guess you can't see that clearly enough. I'm leaving this post up here just because I like it, but I'm hoping to find some time to edit it again and have penguins in the water. AP week however is a first priority

Edit: Appreciate the suggestions. I really couldn't make the penguin more obvious because it would make the image look less realistic so I did the exact opposite and made it less obvious. Now its cartoony :)

i did this image using only filters and masks, dodge and burn and smudge tool. i'm sorry that i can't provide a step-by-step guide, but all the work on the image was mostly experimental stuff. i can tell you that i did the fire by coloring the globe orange, then motion blurring it a lot, then shaping the flames with the smudge tool. i did the nails with the liquify filter. i hope my explanation works as good as a step-by-step guide ;)
