I used channels to roughly extract the chair from the background. After filling in the background with red, I used the marquee tool to create boxes, and used the create layer from copy to make a new layer. I did this many times until I felt I had enough shapes. Then on various shapes I used transform to skew, rotate, and expand the shapes until I got the look I desired. Then on each layer except the background layer, I added an inner glow layer style. I increased the size and decreased the opacity on the default settings to get the look I desired. Then on various shapes I added texture using the texturizer filter and the canvas texture. Then on other various shapes, I adjusted the saturation to alter the color of the shape. After I achieved the look I wanted by altering the various shapes, I added a new layer and filled it with an off-white color and dropped the opacity to soften the whole image. Hope you like it!
