First thing I thought of when I saw the source. Came home to submit - and saw similar entry. Tried to dodge and burn the bottom lip to give the impression that the mouth is closed. Believe there is enough difference between the two to warrant submission. Here it is.

Turned PST image to profile. Incorporated into tree using mask, layers and pattern overlay.

My first idea was something completely different than this but as I moved around copies of the original source I started to notice a bunch of different animal faces. Even more as I kept working.

Started off as a west coast Totem pole but ended as an abstract series of images. Used several polar distortions to get the shapes, duplicated and flip to align end to end. Lots of dodge and burn to get some depth. (See high res)
