Sun Spots, created by kymbryonic
Now that I finally figured out how to use layers ...
This is also my first time using smudge ...
For sun's rays, I used my muddy beach photo; chromed it; used correct camera distortion filter to reduce it down to nearly circular; used blur tool in different sizes to make flames/rays; used color correction/colorize to get red tones.
For face, I used a crop that I had made for a previous PST contest (green eyes); used correct camera distortion filter to make forehead a little bigger & chin a little smaller & the whole thing rounder overall; used move & skew to stretch it into a more circular shape; used circular marquee to crop.
For sun (letters), I magic extracted out the pebbles; used correct camera distortion filter; used move & skew to reduce the size & make it fit on the face's forehead.
Lastly, I merged all layers onto a white background & used the ink outlines filter to get the final effect.
UPDATE: I just finished making & uploading my very first step-by-step guide! \o/ Whew! That's just as much work (if not more) than creating the original artwork! :D
