Hmmm...from just a photoshop standpoint, it's an interesting way to transform water into fire. It's not going to win you any prizes, but thanks for teaching me something, and good luck on your subsequent entries.

Excellent! It might be too much of a pain but maybe instead of a black background, you could add a rocky sort of slope or something (it really reminds me of lava and that Dianetics commercial with the volcano)

i first wanted to call it lava but i was looking to pictures with volcano eruptions n the reds where much much darker..but i dident like it with dark red so i made it lighter and simply called it explosion

Entry guide: step 1 of 6

I isolated the splashes in a new channel then loaded it an a new layer

Entry guide: step 2 of 6

copyed some parts to hide the man that was still shoving a little bit in the image

Entry guide: step 3 of 6

i added layerstyles inner shadow outer glow inner glow and a yellow color overlay

Entry guide: step 4 of 6

I made a blured duplicate n changed the blending option to... lighten..(i guess:P)

on a new layer i just painted some red

flatend the image made a duplicate n changed the blending option to screen..then an other duplicate with blending option to screen but with opacity at about 60%,u can see that in the end result
