When I saw the source photo the decor repelled me, so I had to get rid of it! Here I've started removing stuff and establishing the planes for restoring the bare room....

The almost bare room. The carpet was replaced by a pattern generated from a small sample, and there was a lot of copying & pasting, scaling & distorting, dodging & burning.
