I used only the source image. I created the glass ball with the help of a tutorial the combined the images. Please see SBS and go for the high res. Waiting for improvement comments :)

Looks good.
But I would spherize the photo inside the glass ball.
It will make it look more real, just a tip

But it looks great.

i would liked it a lot better if the painting was bigger (the main focus) and no glass ball but good job

I like the inner image a lot, the glass ball is great, the shadows are not quite 100% there. As far as shadows go - you have one light for the image and one for the sphere. I could do with less background and more of the central items, but all that said - this is ver well done!
