A dark and stormy nightmare

I used this as rhe background image and a layer mask to paint out the unwanted areas.

Overlayed this onto the background and with a layer mask painted out the sky and other unwanted areas.

This is one of my own photos. Again I overlayed it on top of the previous layers and used a layer mask to brush away unwanted areas.

I painted in the smoke coming from the fires of hell, and painted in the glowing red areas.
