Dude, I'm just here for two days, makes kinda sense I haven't won anything yet now does it! And I will upload one of my space arts now in this contest

It's not that he hasn't got potential, but at the moment it's just not good in my opinion. One of the reasons is that there are just too many stars and that they are too big... just a levels layer would've fixed that on the starfield

Hmm, im gonna have to disagree with koepaard for the most part, it is a decent picture with a good consistant color scheme, but I do see a couple of major weaknesses. One is on the planet, it has the texture but in a way it looks flat. The other problem is with the green clouds, the stars should be in front of the cloud rather then behind it (thats just me being a geek though :P)

Well, sorry then I guess o.o" The try harder wasn't in a way of "this is the worst art ever!" but in the way of "I know you can do better". You don't say try harder to someone of who you can already see he can't do it better anyway... By the composition you can already see he's talented and while typing this I know I should've said that in the first post. When I would get that comment it would probably piss me off >< So I apolagize and am really going to upload my space art here now :p

Would also like to add, i'm going to side with FairyGardens on this one, I believe mentioning no names, cause they've already been mentioned, there's a small minority that partake in harsh or rude comments, which is neither helpful or encouraging..and quite possibly ignorrance...

Entry guide: step 1 of 10

I built a star field.

Entry guide: step 2 of 10

Then added what I represent as an earth like planet. Simple brown/red and blue texture, Render, Clouds.

Entry guide: step 3 of 10

Added Inner Shadow.

Entry guide: step 4 of 10

Added Outer Glow.

Entry guide: step 5 of 10

Added Inner Glow.

Entry guide: step 6 of 10

Burnt in shadow on Planet to set up sun placement.

Entry guide: step 7 of 10

Added the sun.

Entry guide: step 8 of 10

Added a Moon.

Entry guide: step 9 of 10

Added some clouds to lighten it up a bit.

Entry guide: step 10 of 10

Tweaked Colors, etc. and merged.
