the hi-res version is so beautiful

my only issue is the cats body inside the shell, it doesn't seem to match the rest of the cat and therefore the cats left leg seems to be floating (to my eyes anyway).. great submission though marked higher for originality

such a precious kitty - I think the leg is raised (theoretically) from the curvature of the shell. kitten just needs a bit of shadow inside the shell. like your frame and image outside it, author.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions guys. I added a shadow to the base of the shell. The kittens right leg is supposed to appear floating as you can see that it is slightly bent compared to the left which is taking all the weight. Don't you hate it when you forget that the website logo will cover part of your image.

Entry guide: step 1 of 6

Masked cat and shell. Repositioned shell and placed cat inside.

Entry guide: step 2 of 6

Drew frame and added sand.

Entry guide: step 3 of 6

Drew in cat fur using smudge technique and the blurred slightly.

Entry guide: step 4 of 6

Changed the perspective and smudged the sand where the shell had dragged.

Entry guide: step 5 of 6

Put some sand outside the frame and added the hermit crab.

Entry guide: step 6 of 6

Added shadows.
