I used a technique found from the video "You Suck at Photoshop" (#5) to get rid of the stones. I liked the humor of it :D

First I found an image of space and used a reddish gradient to change the color of the planet and have the planet reflect on the shuttle. Then I used layer masking and blending to import the stones to the scene. I erased the strings and added a slight gradient to signify the heat of entry. After this I used the patch tool to get ride of some of the more unnatural looking "craters" for an edit. Thanks for the suggestion. This is what mars would be like if we were having an asteroid storm after colonization. This is what it would look like if a picture was taken from a satellite :D
