This might be wrong for the contest, but I took my high speed camera and got one of my athletes doing a discus spin with multiple shots. Then I made multiple layers and used motion blur, along with slight radial blur at the end. If it doesnt fit the contest because more than one picture was used I apologize.

Again..love this kind of treatment...I think the runner one you did is a bit better though...just an opinion
