for the finished look i duplicated the flattened image and applied gaussian blur, then set the blend mode to overlay. would love some comments :)

Thats not bad at all but I don't really like the left hand... And maybe you could've done something "hi-tech" with the left "card", as I'm guessing that was the idea? With the portal and such... Nice entry

I actually think the idea is to reverse it, not sure what's up with wood for the card, but tis the same color? =3

The "card" on the left side isn't made of wood, its actually the hand stretched out. I really tried my best to make the "hand card" more "hi-tech" but I guess I need more practice with photoshop, so I just ended up stretching the hand.
