This is my first entry, comments welcome.
For the design of the globe I used the source from the "black-and-white" contest and used the spherisize effect and some other effect to make the model look as hand-made. I also played a bit with lights, and diffuse glow, and added a red filter to be in tone with the x-mas spirit.
Thanks for the comments, I changed the blending options of the tree and added shadow to the robot.

good try for your first entry! Watch the masking on the christmas tree, you can still see quite a bit of white. Keep it up

I like the hat, good effort. Try adding some shadow from the robot to make it less floating.
