The ideia was good, but try to work more with the lights and if you change the human hand to the animal hand, would be better.

great idea. I agree about the masking advice and I also think that your perspective on the middle ape is a bit off. The ape on the right doesnt look like he is in the hat right either. Maybe warp it a little?
