I was struck by how much the source photo resembles 17th century architecture I'd encountered while touring England. Over the countryside there are scores of churches and cemeteries that have stone gates and walls, along side a modern roadway. I manipulated the image to resemble and entrance to a forest I saw. The b/w versus color in the image is to represent 17th century stonework (old) contrasting the roadway behind me (new).
