can anyone point me to a good tutorial?

This is an excellent idea, although I think there may be a little too much "white" on the glass. My opinion, only, of course. I haven't tried this tutorial, but try this link http://www.cg-links.com/link/2D_Tutorials/Adobe_Photoshop/Textures_and_Patterns/3713.
