Reminds me of my friends place in Honduras. Good idea. Your steps look a little to clean of for the house and you have a perspective problem with the posts.

Just a tip for the future: Never use a dropshadow like this. It's a very unrealistic shadow when used as a cast shadow. And you could ask: why doesn't the house cast a shadow as well? Just some reminders, that hopefully will help you some day....
