Idea ia good. Background is quite nice. The scale effect might look better if it was confined just to the exposed skin. The hair has lost all its detail and looks like too dark around the edges of the face

Great idea !!!! I love her left arm, really fishy (or should I say really mermaidishy?), you have to work a little more (no idea how) on the parts with the blouse... Alan is right about the hair, try to improve it, It's a really beautiful composition

Quite hard to get the detail of the hair back, tried clong and stuff just didn't turn out right..

Try using a new layer of just the original hair, changing the blending mode and opacity until you like it. The black around the scales is very inconsistent and distracting, especially her left cheek...
