Straighten out some boards with the warp tool...

Couldn't read the gauge in the source photo, so i found one and cut it out...

doped out the pipe at the bottom

dropped copies of the gauge on key spots (tracing some of the circuit board, blown way up)

Began making wooden circuit traces - using an action button i made to rotate an item 45°.

using Ctrl+click on the right layer - it is easy to erase the excess "lumber"...

filled in space with copies and cut them to fit, added more dupes of the gauge at the terminal points ...

(i made some very instructive animated GIFs of all of this, but apparently we can't upload GIFs... SIGH)

i perspective—distorted the flattened planks and gauges...

hard to see in the non-animated version, but i duped that and stretched the lower one 104% taller...

Ctrl+click top layer, then SHIFT+Ctrl+click the second, taller layer to get the poor-man's 3D effect area.

Then i put on a motion blur to fill that area in the lower circuit layer.

I also darkened the resulting motion blur, and the duped it many times and flattened - to get a solid mass, witch i then cropped with the mask from the two perspective circuit layers.

This left some gaps - so i used the polygonal lasso tool and selected from point to point.

Then B for Brush, Alt+click to select the right brown colour, and Robert is your father's brother.
