Looks good. The shadows are nice, but They have to be a little stronger somewhere. Compare with the right side of the contest house... Nice work...

Outstanding chop! You picked a GREAT source (your own photo, no less) for this! My eyes assumed that the architectural toppers were made from the contest source! The reflection in the Taj Mahal's reflecting pool is very very well done! I'm voting high, and this is a favourite! Take a bow! (c= Oh - and great step-by-step too! Could be made into a great tutorial with a little text!

I think the shadows are perfect, they match the lighting. The water is where I'm seeing a problem. With all the wind in the background, both in the trees and in the water, the water in the front would not be so perfectly calm and serene. The front is working beautifully. So if any changes are made, make it to the background (easier lines to cut that way too). Overall a very beautiful job. Very cleanly done. The building itself is fabulous.

The water in the background is seawater, the water in front of the house is still water.

Wow, I'm speechless after seeing your step-by-step guide. That is some amazing photoshopping. The foreground needs some work if you ask me. Why does the water go streight up to the door? Don't think it makes sense.
About the shadows. Compare the right side of building with the right side of the tower/turret. They seem darker on the building...

I kind of see your point, lundmikkel, but if you look at the contest source, there are doors that would throw you down into the lake if you tried to walk out them. I think they are door/window combos, so that works, actually. There are two ways to leave this building, only one in the original.

As for wind in the shallow reflecting pool... i think the disturbance the author put there is plenty. Water can't make waves that are thicker than the water is deep, so just a little shift here and there i think is plenty. Just my .2 Euros. (c;

It is great, but it's not perfect, you only ned to fix the part where the building meets the water and walkway then it will be 100% perfect

I think it was worth the time too. It really shows what you are able to do with Photoshop. It looks like you added the shadows I talked about. Looks good. Thoughtstorms: You may be right, but it's only the door ion the middle that has got handles. Author you added the handles on the other doors. Then why not remove them from the door in the middle since it's now a window?? And to be a little more picky, you have an edge on the second tower from the right that isn't on the others. But it's a very very strong entry indeed. Keep up the good work...

People should take note, you gotta take the extra 2, 3, 4 or even 5 steps. the ones that know photoshop well, know what it take to put out an entry like yours.
As I read above, technical aspects can be a pain in the butt, but overall, I'ts wonderful.

I have a picture with the excact same building from almost the same angle...

its from about 12 years ago when i was in loret de mar

the wall on the left with the "stripe" effect is newly build since then.. there used to be a wall completely covered with vines.. also the benches have been replaces with different ones i see

Amazing work! Looks very pro! Your light/shadows look very good. The only place I would suggest some more work is over the door. You have shadows under the stucco - it should be over it...

its a great idea but the execution needs a little more work.. The edges of the girls dress would look much better when smoothened with a very small blur brush.. they look so hard and sharp now which is not naturally for a dress. At the left side the building has a light outline try to get rid of that. the top edge of the building could use some smoothening too i think, it looks like its not straight lines, perhaps thats because of the dark line on the edges. They are from the original but still

You've probably figured out by now that i frequently don't understand people the first, second, sometimes 18th time... the blue grid with the green background: displayed in step #4... is that some kind of [warp], or [perspective] filter/add-on? I'd ask in a personal message, but then i'd be the only one learning.
