Very sweet one

! Suggest to blur the dog&duck a bit more and do some improvement with the duck's shadow, but the idea is great!

@wazowski: i know, that the shadow is pretty bad, even though i tried to do it better for a pretty long time. shadows and i are like water and fire. have you any suggestions, how i could do a halfway realistic shadow?

You can copy the duck layer, fill it with black, and just transform it and rotate it. don't forget to adjust the opacity and add some blur. If that don't func, you can always use the brush

You can do what alhemyo says or indeed just play a bit with the brush (and smudge tool!) in an apart layer(s) with opacity. For example skip the idea that you have to show the shadow from the full body, but just add some subtile shadow under the feet. In case you'd do that, then you have to think well what shadow the dog needs. Good luck!

thank you for your hints, alhemyo and wazowski. i blurred the dog and the duck a bit more and worked on the shadows. i think it's a little bit better than before, but i'm still not totally satisfied

Well, the light source is not that strong and not coming directly from the front of the dog and the duck, and it cannot create siluetes. Maybe thats what bothering you. Anyway, the image looks great and I like it.

Well yeah, skip the idea that you have to see the whole silhouette-shadow from the duck, just a suggestion that the duck is standing there would be more than enough. Blur effect is

fantastic idea, I love the composition with the dog and the duck looking at the picture. Shadows can be tricky and I didn't see the original that you posted but it's looking pretty good...nice work!
