Outstanding entry. Your rendition of the "angel" is better than the original source (except for her slightly pointed mouth)! Your structure reminds me of the zodiac and the occult. And your choice of images for each circle beautifully depict the many kinds of death and destruction. Crisp, clean. It's early in the contest, but this will be hard to beat in my book. Poor artist, LOL! Green shirt is directly from source, as you know, folks. This contest uses what has to be the worst source photo I've seen. The chick in jeans and a green shirt in the source doesn't look very angel of death-y either.

Thanks again, for the great comments everyone. I agree with you all, jeans and T-shirt are not very death looking, and I wrestled with changing them. The problem was, I didn't want to use so little of the source image, that all you would recognize of it was the face (I always try to use at least 50% of the source file given). And yes this is the worst source file I've every seen.

Second entry of this one, did some adjustments on the background, added some shadow and tweaked around with a little more. Once again any feedback is much appreciated.

I like the multiple sources of lightning. Too bad the source has modern clothing, kind of clashes. How'd you make the bubble around her?

I just wanted to make the meat of it first. Theres still some more stuff I wanted to adjust such as the clothing like you mentioned and the sphere in here lap. I leared the bubble tech off another tutorial website. Not sure if im allowed to post other sites on here but you can message me and i can give you the link.

very nice image ! good work, you can ad some more highlights on the bubble in front of the girl (part) Then she will become more part of the scene,also reducing the black parts (under her arm and mainly the shadow under her collar), this also helps to intergrate her and to stronger the bubble effect. finally soften the edges of the girl here and there, this will finalyse the beautifull image you made ! great work.
