Stone age Testudina-Scyphozoa - created by wazowski

Stone age Testudina-Scyphozoa photoshop picture
final rank: 1 out of 30 (final score: 60.2 %)

For me it was more interesting to find out how those stones and all got there. So turned out it was a Testudina-Scyphozoa! Never too old to learn...

My goal was to only use the source. See sbs for how and what (pc collapsed a couple of times, unfortunately i didnt save all the steps i took, i hope it's clear enough this way).

Feel free to comment (i.e. how to make a better underwater effect), don't forget to check HiRes version and thanks for voting!

Landscape - created by bluewharren

Landscape photoshop picture
final rank: 2 out of 30 (final score: 58.8 %)

This is my first entry here.

I used 2 external images (all are FREE from other websites):

*Sunset background (stretched/resized+hue/saturation+colorbalance)

*tree (delete background+multiply+resized)

I used a combination of HUE/ SATURATION and COLOR BALANCE to make the sand into green liked grass image and put the background after cutting the upper part of the image as well as the trees. I just played around the colors to make it more realistic plus the shadows.

Please let me know your suggestions and comments. THANKS. ^_^

Rock-O-Saurus - created by robmcilwain

Rock-O-Saurus photoshop picture
final rank: 3 out of 30 (final score: 58.5 %)

This is my second entry on PST and doesn’t use any outside sources. All of the elements used were obtained from the original picture. The head, teeth, backbone and eye weren’t reshaped in any way. I used the liquify tool to work on the arms, legs and the tips of the fingers and toes. The burn and dodge tools were used in places for shadows and highlights.

Road Edge - created by dpm08

Road Edge photoshop picture
final rank: 4 out of 30 (final score: 57.5 %)

One extra source was used and thanks goes to solkee for the image (Stock Images Outdoor 19).

Basically placed the road image over the top of the source image and masked of the bottom part of the road image.

Where Pebbles Come From - created by mediamavin

Where Pebbles Come From photoshop picture
final rank: 5 out of 30 (final score: 57.4 %)

In a nutshell. All imagery was created from photoshop and the source image.

I used the stones in the sand to create an astroid field.

The planet is basically a black circle with a glow on the edges on top of a black background.

The sun is just a white circle, blurred and duplicated with overlay mode.

The smoke is just the "render clouds" filter on a black layer. And i masked what i wanted to be visible.

I used the warp tool to help shape the astroid field.

And to finalize it all i put a saturation mode on it to make it greyscale then i put a red overlay on it globally. I then took the original source image and placed it on multiple and used that to create texture on the astroids.

I will upload some of my steps so you can see. Feel free to msg me if you have any questions or would like more explanation on techniques used.

Thanks for voting.
