i think for me..if the flame is supposed to be water you might try to find a way to better define that. it just looks like a black flame to me...really good thought though!!

if even you say it looks a little bit less then pathetic, why'd you put it in the contest? never say anything about your work being bad, but ask for comments on improvements. You just told everyone that you don't have confidence in your work, so now people are more likely to agree it's bad. I'm not trying to be harsh but it's true. Even if it does suck, ask for construtive critizism, don't say it sucks. ... That is all.

True words rorof. Author, the biggest shortcoming here is your masking and the leaving of the white fringe around the hand. Look through the tutorials and learn how to eliminate that, fix your picture and resubmit a better one and erase your negative comment.

Was a good idea, I agree with the others that the cutting needs to be a bit smoother. Only other thing is to watch using google to get images as lots of them are copyrighted even if they come up in a google image search. Try using places like the stock here or the many other royalty free stock image places out there such as stockvault etc. Also have confidence, it's not as bad as you make out

This is the first time I tried making something like this (person/All Source). I would appreciate any suggestions on how to make it better if I have enough time to fix it.

simple is cool-er: try an option without the table and the bench, without the swords on the background, but just the kanji. And why did u make the ears if we can't see them cause of the hair. try a more simple composition just to see if u like it. i would... :-P

I started making the normal feats of the face-eyes/lips/nose/ears. I got bored and just threw some hair on her and I liked the way it looked. I was really hating the ears and decided to just cover them up. I'll keep your idea in mind. I had trouble with the arms and body (first human person I've ever made) and figured I'd just hide the rest instead lol. Just wanted to make sure I got to enter it before it's too late. Im going to TRY and add touch ups to it before the contest ends (wings and I guess making it simplier). Thanks for your suggestion.
