Good idea, well executed. Must have been a lot of work. The only noticed the horse is less sharp than the background. A little sharpening on the horse would make it less noticable.

Thanks stofvinger , horse sharpened, and lundmikkel you have an evil shadow eye! Shadow corrected Xtro, I know what you mean, I had quite a dilema to know if I would go just with the clean background, but then decided to go with my first idea. Thanks guys for the good advices and commenting

Good idea. Couple of suggestions: Try using a small drop shadow on the metal horseshoes to give them a little depth in relation to the horse itself. Also, you may wish to spend some time on the shadow on the ground as it currently still shows that cage shadow but doesn't account for the horse inside it.

The perspective of drop shadow of the horse on the ground doesn't match the perspective of the real shadow at the original pic...suggest the you should only paint it in black..
