the whole image was made in photoshop except the firework

Awesome!!! my suggestion is: using hue/saturation with a layer mask give some fire works hue at the image.... will be great!!!!

original fireworks picture cropped,
blue background deleted from champange picture, blue color replaced carefully with black.
Some details like light reflection and fireworks lens transformation done by Liguify effect.
Picture in background cropped, adjusted brightness and highlited some details on the roofs.

Nice image, but where are the sources? and the light transfer through the flutes could use some work. it should be a little brighter where its only passing through one layer of glass.
