Photoshop contest - frozen lake

Thought I'd make something that was out of the box. Hope you like it. Would love to get comments and I'm open for suggestions on how to make it better.

Nexus: Have shapened it a little. But didn't have to many pixels to work with. The city was not that big a part of the contest image...
If it should be sharper I would have to scale the image down, which wouldn't be very good as well. Don't blame it on me, but the contest image

I'm aware of the lack of quality due to the lack of pixels. I'll work on it later and see if I can fix it. So hold your vote...

Author you have to work within the paramiters of the compertition. If people tell you it's blurry and it is you can't really make excuses for that. Next time try the idea on an image that will give you the desired effect. good luck.

Acuario: First of all welcome to PST. Second I don't understand your comment. "work within the paramiters of the compertition"?? Don't I do that? What are the "paramiters" you are talking about? I made an image that got the desired effect, but it got a little blurry in the end. I can't do anything about it - I already tried. If people can't look through that, then they always have the posiblity to make give me a lower vote. But if you could be contructive instead I would be happy to see if I could fix the problem somehow...

When you place a piece in a compertition and ask for comments and critisium. To enlarge an image and then when someone says its blurred you say "don't blame it on me blame the contest image" is strange. the compertition is run so we all use the same image in some way. You need to be able to take and learn from critisium or stagnate. I really like your idea but it doesn't work because the resolution of this perticular image wouldn't allow it. All I was saying was try again when the image allows it. I think I am being constructive in pointing that out, do you not agree?

I liked the blurry kinda image the way it was better then it is now to be honest. and i do aggree with acuario if you have a problem with the source then thats not something that voters can look through.... the result is what counts.. not "what could have been" if it was done with a better source image.

People. The whole "don't blame me" was ment as a joke. That's why I made a . I know the quality of the city isn't the best, but I can't change it without doing the whole image over again. I'm not making exuces - just telling you how it is...

Ive seen this idea done a few times on flickr......if the source pic is too blurry than perhaps you shouldnt of tried it and waited for a better source.

I thought about this idea. Just needed a a few more leaves (looks abit flat) Try shadows around the base of the bushes otherwise nicely done.
