Humming Flower, created by AutumnSkyline

Humming Flower
final rank: 18 out of 32 (final score: 53.3 %)
for contest: four cards

Ok, well I didn't win the last contest, but I gave it my all in this one, tell
me what you think, don't be afraid to criticize me :P. I won't take offense, I
promise ;D. If I do a Tut, it wont be exact, It's very hard to duplicate my
warping that I did late late late at night.

It involved a lot of warping of the cards though. I took a pic ( see source)
of a humming bird and used the Quick Selection tool to get it out of its pic,
and flipped it the right way (for my picture).

I then used the Crtl (or CMD)+J method of replicating a background onto the
hummingbird, and added some layer styles.

I replaced the Cards Color, and I couldn't do black for some reason, but I'm
not to upset by it.

In the original, the cards were black though, and everything was less
pronounced.

Eye of the Betrayed, created by AutumnSkyline

Eye of the Betrayed
final rank: 19 out of 39 (final score: 52.5 %)
for contest: electrical sparks

So Basically this is how it went down.

I took the image, used chrome, and something else (forgot T.T) to make faint
lines in it (it wasn't crosshatch).

I colored it red, and put it over the original image at a different layer
style. I warped the new image into a rounded shape, duplicated it, and flipped
it 180 degrees.

I warped it some more, made the eye and stuff with the elliptical marquee and
many ideas from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJD7hMcDEGA
this vid on youtube.

I put the two together and duplicated it, making it into a circle around the
eye. I erased the artifacts from the chrome (you can still see some, but it
isn't too noticeable.

I ended up overlaying another one of the source images, setting a different
blending layer (color burn prolly, there were two that look really close) and
then erased the parts that I didn't want, so instead of it looking like a
circle, the veins just come out of it.

If you want me to explain more on how I did it, or if you don't believe I did
it, I have the original .psd on my desktop, I can send you a screen shot of all
of the layers and such.. pm me if needed ^^
